Good morning,
Great News! The PNC has a candidate that they will be interviewing soon!  Gratitude for God’s guidance through this process and all our volunteers on the PNC for the work they are doing in pursuit of a new pastor.  Be sure to keep a positive attitude, resist sharing rumors and false information, and thank our PNC members for all the time and effort they are giving to this process. 
There is a basket in the choir room for collection of toilet paper rolls for upcoming Advent activities.  See Special Notes below for a list of other requested items. 
Our music groups all rehearse on Wednesday evenings. If you feel called to participate in any of our groups, I know that our Music Director would be delighted!  Ross Kershaw, Joan Stetler and Sharon Lea, along with all the members who are a part of the choir, bells, Praise Band, and Simple Gifts, give generously of their time and talents to provide a joyful noise.  Come be a part of the joy (and the noise 😊)!  The Christmas Cantata is coming up in December so there are additional opportunities to share your talents. 
It’s early but I want you all to be thinking about the events and stories that you would like to share in the newsletter as we close out this year.  The deadline for submissions is October 30th so that I can put the newsletter together and get it printed and distributed on November 3rd.  Committee reports, Advent events, personal stories, photos, and more are welcome and encouraged.
Special Notes:
  • Upper Rooms:  After some confusion with the publisher, we now have a lot of extra copies of the September/October Upper Rooms.  This would be a great time to take some to use to bless someone you encounter in your day-to-day life.  Both small print and large print are available.  Please pick some up and bless someone in our community!
  • Donations Requested:  Nancy Darland is already hard at work planning for Advent, which will be here before you know it!  We will need a few items for our Advent activities in December: Christmas tree ornaments/decorations, an Advent wreath for the hall, fabric - green, purple, and yellow, and toilet paper rolls. Give these items to Nancy Darland. Thanks!  I have already started my collection of toilet paper rolls!

  • Worship Service: Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary.
  • Sunday Bible Study: Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the parlor and on Zoom. Studying Disciplines 2024.
  • PTL Service: Sunday at 9:00 a.m. PTL service in the Fellowship Hall. Breakfast served at 8:50 a.m.
    • Children’s Church: Children leave PTL at 9:25 and return at 10:10.
  • Worship Service: Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary.
  • Intercessory Prayer Group:  Open to all, meets each Monday at 9:00 a.m. in the classroom downstairs.
  • Tuesday Bible Study: Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in the parlor and on Zoom. “Lessons from the Life of David (No-Prep Bible Studies) by Kenny Beck
  • Ladies Lunch:  at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays. October 1, 8, 15 & 22 at 7 Lazy S and a tea or carry-in for the last Tuesday in October.
  • Couple’s Bible Study: Tuesdays, from 7:00-8:00 pm.  We are doing “Laugh Your way to a Better Marriage”, hosted by Ross & Janna in the parlor. No book needed, please join us.
  • Men’s Breakfast: Wednesday at 6:00 a.m. at Black Bear.
  • Music Rehearsals: Wednesday night: PTL Praise Group 4:30, Simple Gifts 6:00, Choir 6:45 & Bells 8:00.
